How to activate and load Solver add-in in Microsoft Excel if it is not working

With the new version of Microsoft Excel, Solver is included by default. You are only required to activate it. With that in mind, then, let’s talk about it some more.

Load Solver add-in in Excel

1] How to activate Solver

Open your Excel sheet, then navigate to File, then Options. From there, you will need to move over to the Add-ins section and click the Manage box.

The next step, then, is to select Excel Add-ins. You will now be required to click Go to move on to the next section.

2] Select Solver Add-in

You should now see a box that says Add-ins Available. Just select the Solver Add-in the checkbox and click on OK to complete the task. Now, once Solver is loaded, you can find it in the Analysis group via the Data tab.

3] What if Solver is not located in the Add-ins Available box?

Should this be the case, simply select Browse to search for it on your computer. If you get prompted that the Solver Add-in is not currently installed on your computer, you will be prompted. Click Yes to install it.
